The Calais Chess Club is organizing its first classical time control open tournament, taking place from October 25 to October 30, 2025.

The tournament will be played in 9 rounds with a time control of 1 hour 30 minutes + 30 seconds per move.

Venue
The games will take place in the grand hall of Calais City Hall. We extend our gratitude to Mrs. Bouchart, Mayor of Calais, for granting access to this magnificent venue—an inspiring setting for players to perform at their best.

Facilities
On double-round days, the club itself will be open, offering a welcoming space to relax and unwind between games.

Prizes and ParticipationAs this is the first edition of the tournament, we are navigating uncharted territory. Prizes (both overall and by category) have been calculated based on an estimate of 60 participants. If the number of players exceeds this estimate, prize amounts will be adjusted accordingly.

registration: 50€ ( 25€ young) prizes: 500€-400€-300€ ( minimum if 60 players) prizes per category

Accommodation and Dining
Efforts are underway to provide participants with special deals on accommodation and dining. Details will be made available on the tournament website in due course.
