Round 2: Sunday 10/26 at 9:30 a.m.
Round 3: Sunday 10/26 at 3:00 p.m.
Round 4: Monday 10/27 at 9:30 a.m.
Round 5: Monday 10/27 at 3:00 p.m.
Round 6: Tuesday 10/28 at 2:30 p.m.
Round 7: Wednesday 10/29 at 9:30 a.m.
Round 8: Wednesday 10/29 at 3:00 p.m.
Round 9: Thursday 10/30 at 9:30 a.m.
Prize giving: Thursday 10/30 at 3:00 p.m.
ARTICLE 1: Organization, Registration
- Tournament organized by Calais Passion Echecs and the city of Calais
- Approved by FIDE and FFE
- Registration closes on October 25, 2025, at 1:30 PM
- Registration fees: €50 for adults, €25 for juniors, additional fee after October 19
- Registration implies acceptance of the rules and the chess player charter
ARTICLE 2: Right to Image
- Photos and videos may be taken during the tournament
- Registration implies acceptance to appear in photos and videos
ARTICLE 3: Tournament Procedure
- 9 rounds, open to any player affiliated with a FIDE member federation
- Schedule of rounds and award ceremony detailed
- Time control: 1 hour 30 minutes (+ 30 seconds/move) for the entire game Recording of moves is mandatory
- Draw by mutual agreement possible from the 20th move or with the referee’s agreement Forfeit after 30 minutes of delay
ARTICLE 4: The Bye
- One “BYE” allowed per player, worth 0.5 point, limited to rounds 1 to 6 Must be requested before the end of the previous round
ARTICLE 5: Pairing
- Swiss system, accelerated if more than 100 players assisted by the Papi 3.3.8 program
ARTICLE 6: Ranking and Prizes
- Ranking based on game points Tiebreakers: Truncated Buchholz, Buchholz, Performance
- The expected prizes are as follows: 1st: €500* – 2nd: €400* – 3rd: €300* Prize by category – prize by bracket Elo – female prize*
- The final prize list will be posted before the start of Round 3.
- Prizes guaranteed if at least 60 participants, adjustable according to the number of registrants
- Non-cumulative prizes, awarded to winners present at the closing ceremony
ARTICLE 7: Refereeing
- Chief referee: Philippe Blot, International Arbiter
ARTICLE 8: Player Conduct
- Analyses and blitz are prohibited in the tournament hall
- Discussions are limited to avoid disturbances
- Prohibition of electronic devices not authorized by the referee
- Sanctions for acts contrary to the ethics of the game
- The consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly forbidden in the Town Hall.
ARTICLE 9: Disputes
- Appeals jury composed of five members, sovereign decisions Competent referee to resolve disputes
- Possibility to appeal to the appeals jury in case of disagreement
